Momentus Hotels & Resorts evolves to cater to changing demands

Nestled in the heart of Singapore’s bustling medical hub – Novena – is the recently launched Momentus Serviced Residences Novena, a subsidiary of the Chip Eng Seng Group’s Momentus Hotels & Resorts. Just last March, the building located at 12 Shan Road was brought by a joint venture led by Roxy-Pacific, with partners Macly Capital and LWH Holdings from TA Corp for an amount of $86.5 million.

Comprising of 99 studio apartments at 398 sq ft and one- and two-bedroom units covering between 366 and 861 sq ft of space, Momentus Serviced Residences Novena is strategically located near medical facilities and shopping malls and can be easily accessed via the Novena MRT Station.

Previously known as the 12 On Shan serviced apartment, this property is the second under the Momentus Hotels & Resorts brand and the first serviced apartment from the group. Its first hotel, Momentus Hotel Alexandra, launched in March and is situated at 323 Alexandra Road in Bukit Merah.

The group had previously operated the hotel as Park Hotel Alexandra, but closed it for refurbishment and rebranding, that had 442-key facilities.

Aiming to capitalize on the ever surging demand for travel and changing traveller preferences – particularly after the COVID-19 outbreak – Momentus Hotels & Resorts has diversified its hospitality services and ventured into the serviced apartments segment to cater to a wider range of customers.

Angeline Tan, Senior Vice President of Momentus Hospitality and Vice President of Chip Eng Seng Hospitality, spoke of the group’s decision to expand, saying that this move allows them to offer more immersive stays for the travellers seeking extended periods of stay in Singapore.

With a thriving hospitality industry that has seen extensive growth and is fiercely competitive, Tan understands the ever-evolving needs of modern day travellers and intends for Momentus Hotels & Resorts to provide guests with a home away from home-feel and cater to their every day requirements.

The Jurong Condo project in the Jurong Lake District will be a great boon to its residents. The new location will offer excellent access to public transport, shopping, recreational activities, entertainment, and a waterfront promenade. Residents will be able to take advantage of the lake’s beauty, while the promenade will provide an idyllic spot to relax and take in the views. The Jurong Lake District project is set to be a great asset to the local community and create an enhanced living experience for its new residents.

To achieve this goal, the serviced apartment is situated in an ideal location in Novena that is close to a variety of medical centres, shopping malls and parks, and is just an eight-minute walk away from the Novena MRT Station. Here, visitors can be well-connected to iconic destinations, such as Orchard Road and Raffles Place.

In addition, the serviced apartment is also well-equipped with the kind of amenities that will fulfill the requirements of all ages and lifestyles, such as a fitness room, outdoor terrace, barbecue area, rooftop garden and a swimming pool. The apartment units too have been designed to be modern and aesthetically pleasing, with neutral color palettes and modern furnishings.

The property has also been rewarded with the maximum points for greenery under URA’s Green Mark scheme, as 40% of the development consists of lush green spaces that give guests a chance to soak in the sights of nature.

Moving forward, Tan has shared her plans to expand Momentus Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio to six properties in the next three years, as well as to focus on sustainability initiatives and technological integration. Her plans also see the brand extending its presence beyond Singapore and into the Asia Pacific region.

For the newly-opened Novena serviced apartment, the brand’s goal is to meet the demands of travellers by achieving an occupancy rate of 70% by the end of this year.
